Overall growth

One of the main things that I feel when I reflect on my entire personal and professional life is that I have worked hard towards a certain goal in life. I have always been motivated to do something meaningful. In higher education, I was interested in choosing a subject that helped to study the society at large. It was in that sense that I studied journalism. I studied international relations to gain a broader world understanding. I also followed a suitable course to gain further proficiency in the English language which was important for personal as well as professional life. By working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I have tried to find a way to improve the English language with what I have learned so far. Working in an embassy in a foreign country naturally enhances our knowledge of English and improve speech. Accordingly, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to see the world, to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to engage in meaningful human relationships.

It was during this time that the idea of enrolling for a postgraduate course in English came up. Especially in today's time, learning professional English is a wise action in every way. This is because in a developing society, at a time when foreign relations are improving, as foreign investment and employment opportunities arise in the country, as communication expands, it is essential to have knowledge of English in relation to one's profession. This English course I studied at the Open University consisted of all the disciplines related to a profession. I was able to gain a thorough knowledge of negotiations, presentation techniques, project reporting, interpersonal communication, social media usage, etc. Although I have previous experience of using English in certain areas (negotiations, for example), after following this course, now I know how to do it systematically and correctly in accordance with the prescribed principles.

Furthermore, this course enabled me to develop certain qualities that I had and to develop certain qualities that I did not have. In particular, self-confidence, teamwork, tolerance, respect for others, critical thinking, and use of effective communication strategies were among them. Finally, I must say that I have been able to gain extensive practical knowledge of English, which has been my life goal, and achieve both personal and professional success. It has also built the confidence in me that is essential to achieve my future goals.
